The Danish CFO Outlook 2026 Is Now Available: Here’s How Danish Finance Executives Set Their Priorities

How do Danish finance executives work with AI, automation, and credit management? And how does Denmark differ from the rest of Northern Europe? Collectia explores these questions in a new Danish edition of CFO Outlook 2026.

Earlier this year, Collectia Group launched its CFO Outlook 2026, based on a survey of 150 finance executives in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Germany.

We have now completed a separate report on Denmark, in which we take a closer look at the Danish responses and examine the challenges, priorities, and investment plans that characterize Danish finance departments.

The results paint a picture of a market that is well ahead in terms of AI and digitalization, but where there remains significant potential to translate the technology into tangible business value.

Denmark is a leader in AI

One of the most striking findings is that all Danish finance executives in the survey are already using AI operationally within their finance departments.

This places Denmark ahead of the regional average, where 94% have AI in operational use.

However, the Danish report also shows that the focus is shifting. It is no longer just about implementing AI, but about identifying the processes where the technology can make the biggest difference.

Here, 61% of Danish finance executives identify credit decisions as an area with particularly high potential.

Automation still has a long way to go

Although Danish finance departments are technologically advanced, only 32% describe their credit and collections systems as fully integrated and data-driven.

This highlights an important difference between having adopted the technology and having realized its full potential.

Manual workflows, a lack of integrations, and limited interoperability between systems can continue to pose challenges to efficiency and visibility within the finance function.

What do Danish business leaders want to invest in?

The Danish report also provides insight into which technologies finance executives are willing to invest in over the next 12 to 18 months.

  • 74% would consider investing in real-time dashboards.
  • 71% would consider AI-driven credit scoring.
  • 61% see particular potential for AI in credit decisions.

The results indicate a demand for solutions that can strengthen the basis for decision-making, provide a better overview, and make credit management more effective.

  • Where the greatest opportunities for efficiency improvements lie.
  • Which technologies do finance departments expect to invest in?
  • How Denmark differs from other markets.
